Upcoming Apple Arcade Releases Include Exclusive Sonic Game and New Disney Title

Apple has announced the selection of games slated to release on Apple Arcade in the coming months. This news comes a week after the tech giant bumped up the price of the subscription service in several regions. Among the anticipated games is a one-of-a-kind 3D Sonic platformer exclusive to Apple Arcade.

In the forthcoming Sonic Dream Team game, Sonic and his associates find themselves up against Doctor Eggman, who has harnessed the power to manifest dreams into reality. The team features character favorites from the Sonic universe, such as Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Cream, and Rouge, each possessing unique skills. The game is set to be available on Apple Arcade from December 5.

Also released on the platform on the same day is Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition, which is a hybrid life simulation and adventure game boasting a plethora of characters from Disney and Pixar. Although the game was previously in early access on other gaming platforms since last August.

Developer Gameloft had initially planned to adopt a free-to-play model for Disney Dreamlight Valley with optional paid expansions at its official December release. However, the strategy has been changed, and the game now costs $40 on consoles and PCs. The game, however, will be available at no extra cost on Apple Arcade, along with the A Rift In Time expansion.

Along with these games, Apple Arcade will soon host six more titles. These include Football Manager 2024 Touch, which uniquely allows players to transfer progress from its predecessor, Football Manager 2023 Touch. Other future releases include a cooking-themed game, Delicious - Miracle of Life+, an exclusive puzzler titled Puzzle & Dragons Story, and the oil rush simulator Turmoil+. November 3 will see the release of Knotwords+, a variant of the popular word game that gained immense popularity on the heels of Wordle. Indie favorite Downwell+, developed by Ojiro Fumoto of Poinpy, will make its way to the Apple Arcade on November 17.
