Extended Miro Functionality for Google Meet Users

Google Meet has shared in a blog post that video meeting users now have more features available during a call. To do this, a third-party online app, Miro, was integrated. Finding solutions to work problems will become more convenient and faster for users.

Miro is a popular online interactive whiteboard service that provides many tools and templates to work with. Miro features collections of drawing tools, various templates, comments, digital notes, and workflow planning. During a video call, Google Meet users can add new boards and use previously created ones. You don't need a Miro profile to use these tools. Users must have guest access to add interactive whiteboards. They can save boards for up to 24 hours.

To launch Miro, select the board; after that, you will see all the participants in the video conference in the sidebar. At the same time, the old functions of Google Meet remain. You can create and participate in surveys, brainstorm with a team of colleagues, and communicate just like before.

The company announced that the update is available for all clients of Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business, as well as simple Google Accounts. Google Family Link accounts do not have access to the new features. You cannot use all of these tools if you are under the age of 18.

The integration is very successful and useful. Given that some of Google Meet's competitors, such as Zoom, also have interactive whiteboard features, it was only a matter of time before the decision was made. Google Meet users now have a wide range of tools at their disposal. This will help to solve work tasks at a higher level. Your group conferences will run more efficiently.

Have you already used the new features of Miro? Which of them will you use more often than others?
